Meet and Greet

On Friday evening we begin our weekend with hugs and handshakes from near and far away classmates and friends.Some of us I know ,have not seen their classmates since Graduation night and I am so excited to welcome everyone back to our hometown of Westwood.Sugar Shack will provide meals and desserts at great prices along with Buffalo Chips and The Old Mill all no more than a few steps to all three locations.Our Class Representatives will greet and hand-out your name tags and itineraries for our fun filled weekend of reconnecting .This will be family oriented so be sure to bring your family, parents and grandparents I am sure they will enjoy seeing us youngsters too.

I have chosen to keep our Reunion in Westwood because I want to give back to a community in which I grew up in and have so many wonderful memories of cherished friends,classmates and teachers that have inspired me along the way.Our little town is not very populated anymore and times have been rough but we can all give back by keeping it local.All of us can support our town and show her some pride and love that we grew up on.

Our Meet and Greet will end at 8:30 just in time for you to clean-up drop the young ones off and head over to The Iron Horse Saloon for some Signature drinks speciality made especially for us by Ms Mary. Mary is also providing us with "Rickety Bridge", another hometown band to get us dancing so bring those dancing shoes and get ready to dance the night away.

Put on those dancing shoes and hit the dance floor.Another Hometown Band called,Rickety Bridge will keep us moving and shaking till after 1 am. Don't miss out on the fun friends or just come sit and talk with your classmates about the good old days while sipping a cocktail from the bar either way you will have a blast.

Mrs. Binswanger has graciously agreed to do a Cemetery Tour of The Westwood Cemetery.Alot of the stories that I have posted on our FB page will really come to light when you see and hear the stories of those who were involved and then seeing their final resting place.

I am a History nerd and love to learn new information of my hometown of Westwood.I for one have never paid that much attention to our town's History until now I guess maturing with age does that.

I hope those of you who would like to learn more about the people who came before us and have left a legendacy for us here you will enjoy this tour.

Saturday June 24,2017 Jr Beavers and the volunteer firemen will be leading a tour of the Fire Department and the first Jail in Westwood.The Tour will run from 11:30 a.m.~1:30 p.m.

The Fire trucks will also be pulled out front for the little one to see and maybe even get to sit in the driver's seat and honk the horn.

Firemen hats and suckers will be handed out to all children, come and bring the kids and learn about the historical Firehouse and Jail don't forget your camera!

On the day of the Reunion will are doing a tour of different merchants around town for instance, Museum ,Stores and Churches and our High School.They are graciously allowing us to tour our old stomping grounds where some of our precious life long memories were made and decisions that affected the rest of our lives.

At 3:00 pm we will have an Assembly in the Gymnasium the President of The Chamber of Commerence will welcome us and lead us in the Pledge of Alliance.We will allow the Principle to speak and tell us what life is like now at Westwood High.

After the Principle we will be led  by our former Cheerleaders in singing our ole school Anthem, "Hail to Thee". After that we have a Skit/Play  of Westwood by, Mrs Sheri Binswanger on film(dvd).Our next speaker is ,the official Town Major ,Mr Bill Levin he will share with us the hey day of Westwood and  the many memories he has.

After our guest speaker we will present Awards of certain status points voted on so be sure and fill out the questionnaire on Friday night Meet and Greet.

Hope you all are excited as The Reps and I are, we want this to be a memory in the making.

The Band we have chose is also from our hometown of Westwood.I am very happy that even the singer is related to one of our older and younger classmates, Mrs. Anders and Barbara Anders from Class of 1979 but what really makes my heart happy is that a classmate and friend of all of ours who started up with this band from its beginning Brad Jennings, who's presence will I am sure we will feel.

I told you all we were keeping it Local and homegrown so to speak.SIDE FX will begin playing at 8:00 p.m. and will continue to play till midnight. If you are still thirsty and want to stay out The Iron Horse is just a few steps down the road.

The  Representatives and I have worked hard and long to keep this Reunion in our town for a special reason and that is love and pride of Westwood. Let's make this Reunion a memory we will cherish for years to come...Enjoy Friends❤️

The Athletic Department is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast for all classmates and friends it will be inside the Cafeteria how about those memories and tables we ate at? The hours will be from 8:00 a.m. ~11:00 a.m. Be sure to stop in before you leave town,on your way back home and  grab some pancakes .Let's help support our High School and show them some love.
